Teaching Philosophy
I believe that all learners are unique and capable of learning in their own ways. As a teacher, I am not the sole focus of their education, rather, the guide that oversees each individual process. I strive to create an environment that is stimulating for students and promotes physical, emotional, mental, and educational development. Likewise, as an online educator, I strive to teach students the meaning of becoming a Global Citizen. My classroom is an environment where all students are invited to take risks and make meaningful mistakes.
Hello,
a bit about me:
Originally from the small town of Middlesex, New Jersey, I traveled out to Pennsylvania to start my educational career. After my four years as a student at Bloomsburg University, I began my teaching career in Clark, New Jersey, at Kumpf Middle School teaching 6th-grade mathematics.
Inspired by my Algebra I and II teacher in high school, I began my journey to become an educator. Along the way, I focused my time working with the Bloomsburg Univerity AMLE Chapter and became President my junior year. I discovered here that middle-school education was my niche and quickly found myself planning STEM Nights for my fellow college peers to practice their pedagogy.
I currently hold my bachelor's degree in Mid-Level Education with a focus in Mathematics from Bloomsburg University.
I also minor in both Educational Technology and Special Education. I am currently pressing a Master's Degree in Educational Technology from Rowan University.
I currently hold teaching certifications in the following instructional areas:
New Jersey
Mathematics (K-12)
Pennsylvania
Secondary Mathematics (7-12)
Mid-Level Mathematics (4-8)
Online Teaching (K-12)
Outside of school, I spend my free time cooking, teaching dance lessons, and practicing Aerial Yoga.
