Creativity Based Assignment

For this task, students will be investigating an African American Mathematician in honor of Black History Month. Students will be given a guideline and rubric of expected information, such as the individual’s basic personal history as well as their discovery or task they are most famous for completing.

 

Each student will use online resources to research their individual chosen from an approved list, recording all important information and interesting findings.

 

Students will then take this information and transform it into one of three forms of media to share with their peers: video, comic strip, or Google Slide presentation. When students have completed and refined their assignments, they will share their media presentations in front of their peers.

 

Each student will assess their peer’s work anonymously with “glows” and “grows” to help improve the students’ performance for future presentations.
